SPIEL Essen takes place every year in October in the halls of Messe Essen. During this time you can walk through all halls and to all booths. Our tickets are valid for the whole opening time and to test the games costs nothing extra.

You can buy various tickets and add-ons for SPIEL Essen 2025 - just as it fits your visit to our trade fair.
You can buy the add-ons in the online shop in the shopping cart just before checkout. There are the following add-ons, which you can combine freely:
The Lootbag is a large bag containing a lanyard and the new, official game for SPIEL.
The Educators Day can be experienced by all visitors to SPIEL this year and you don't need an add-on for it. You only need the add-on if you need a confirmation of participation for your visit to the Educators Day.
To submit your miniature for the Golden Demon painting competition organised by Games Workshop, you will need the corresponding add-on and at least one day ticket for Thursday, Friday or Saturday and one ticket for Sunday, when the awards ceremony will take place.
The big Catan - Connect event will take place on Friday evening. To play here you need a ticket to SPIEL and an add-on Catan - Connect - Play. If you just want to watch, you need a ticket and Catan - Connect - View.
The add-on for the business visitor parking is only available with a validated trade visitor ticket.
